Share Your World Sunday--4/22

I just found a blog that has a "Share Your World Sunday" where each week Cee challenges us with four questions so we can get to know each other better.  This is my first time to participate, but here goes.

1.  How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
That is a very tough question to answer.  My body does seem to be feeling all of its 66 yrs., but my mind and outlook seem a lot younger.  That being said, I have learned a lot, especially in the last few years, and I wouldn't want to have to do that again so I think I'll just stay right where I am.  I know a lot of ages I wouldn't ever want to be again, and I think I'm fine right where I am, and yes, even if no one told me, I would know I am a senior citizen!

2.  What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?
Again, this is tough, as I have experienced many kind acts along the way, but the greatest one I can think of currently is my friend Kay's willingness to come twice a day to help me give medicines and fluids to my sweet cat Sasha, which Kay has been doing since September, 2011!  If it weren't for Kay, I doubt that Sasha would still be with me, and she is now making enormous health gains and I treasure our time together, all thanks to Kay!

3.  What was your favorite childhood television program?
Gads, these aren't getting any easier are they.  I remember the Howdy Doody Show as one of my earliest favorites and then there was Leave it to Beaver and Donna Reed, and The Lone Ranger, and Gilligan's Island.  I guess that is enough.

4.  Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most?
Ok, finally an easy one.  I don't cook so I probably wouldn't miss much.  It isn't a utensil, but I would miss my freezer as I keep a lot of Amy's frozen dinners on hand and I would miss my InstaHot as I make endless cups of tea and ramen that way.  I used to feel like a failure for not being a good cook, but now I just figure that with my limited energies, I'd rather do something else like writing or quilting so I don't worry about it.

You too can have fun with this if you visit Share Your World Sunday!  Have a lovely day and Happy Earth Day!  May we all be more careful of our delicate planet.

  1. Question 1 is a many layered question. Is she asking
How old to you feel? or How old would you like to be? Or how old do you percive one to be. Some days Feel like 101 others like forty. and Like you, physcilly much different than metally.
    2. was hard only because so many have done so many wonderful things for me. BUT no-one. NO one has stood by me like you. Has helped, hugged, loved me and accepted me like you have. year in and year out. Up and down.
    3. Leave to beaver was huge, because I wanted a mom like that. Dad to. Then Lassie and Rin Tin Tin. And Disney had movies every week.
the one the changed the direction of my life was a disney thing..the micky mouse club and they went to horsemastership school and I knew I had to grow up and train horses. And I did. Go to Horse mastership school, and train horses.
    4. Cooking, couldn't live without the mircowave. Well I could but it would make life much harder.

    interesting excersie.

    1. Thanks for playing and you are right that question one is many layered. I had forgotten about Lassie and Rin Tin Tin, but I loved them as well And of course, Disney! I am honored to be your second answer and it is mutual for sure! Have a great day!

  2. What an interesting idea!

    1. I wouldn't be sure. I think I look young for my age...but I sure feel older!

    2. When I was four years old I jumped into the deep end of a swimming pool. I didn't know how to swim but wanted to be like the older kids and thought I'd figure it out if I moved my arms around. It didn't work. I started to sink to the bottom of the pool. One of the adults saw what happened and dived in to save me.

It was a silly thing to do but I'm so grateful there was someone around to help.

    3. Looney Tunes (the original 1940s/1950s series, not the 1990s/2000s update). We weren't allowed to watch much tv growing up but this was one of the shows mom and dad were ok with.

    4. My knives. They're nice and sharp which scared me at first...until I realized how much easier it is to cut through things without accidentally hurting yourself when you don't have to hack away at them.

    1. Thanks, Lydia, for playing along, and I am sure glad someone saved you from drowning! I agree about the Looney Tunes, the originals for sure! I envy you your fluency with knives but I know you are quite correct about the fact that a sharp knife is actually safer. Thanks again and have a lovely day!

    1. Thanks, and yes Vashon is Vashon Island (the post office doesn't like adding the island) and I think it is the greatest spot there is! Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

    1. I loved my 40's...not too young...and not too old! (:>) (I am 61 for real)

    2. My friend and her husband took me and my 3 girls into their home when my husband left me, and this was a great kindness.

    3. My Little Margie...Sheriff John...Sky King...Leave it to Beaver...Donna Reed etc. There were so many that I enjoyed.

    4. My electric tea kettle/coffee pot. And my apple slicer.

    Have a lovely Sunday!

    1. Hi Linda: Thanks for playing along, and you reminded me of TV shows I also loved! Hope your week has been super. I've started a quilting marathon trying to make 8 quilts in 38 days for the Student Link (our alternative high school) graduates so I'm behind everywhere else, but all in a good cause! Have a super day!
